The Mediatior
Conventional mediation, consumer mediation aims to bring together, through a mediation "process" led by an independent and impartial mediator, the consumer client and the professional with whom they are in dispute with a view to an amicable settlement between them.
The Consumer Mediator of Afépame was appointed by Afépame, then was referenced by the Consumer Mediation Evaluation and Control Commission (CECMC) by decision of June 11, 2025 CECMC letter. His initial mandate is three years from the date of his referencing by the CECMC. His initial 3-year mandate has been successively renewed for 3-year mandates, the last renewal being from May 14 2025.
The process
Consumer Mediation is now a right granted to consumers and allows them to access, free of charge, a conventional method of extrajudicial settlement of disputes between them and the professionals with whom they have contracted (Article L612-1).
